April's Athlete of the Month is Gina G - Dedicated, Full of Laughter/Fun, and A huge part of the AP Family!

We chose Gina because she is so many things to so many people and makes being in the gym just that much better. Whether it’s giving advice on outside the gym issues, helping another athlete after class, or cheering loudest for the other athletes in the class, Gina is what CrossFit is all about.

She Shows up early, stays late, and loves making improvements both inside and out of the gym on a daily basis. In addition, she has an amazing way to make others around her laugh and smile!




1. What made you begin training at AP?

I reached my goal of running a full marathon, and I started to get bored with¬† running. That’s when I decided to try out CrossFit at AP.

2. What made you stick with IT?

I fell in love with CrossFit instantly. The constant change in workouts kept it fresh for me. The barbell lifts were a great mental release Рa stress reliever. 

3. What kind of results have you seen since you started training?

I feel they go far beyond my physical appearance. CrossFit is for my mental state first and my body second. I am more confident, happy, and physically and mentally stronger than I have ever been.

4. What’s your favorite part of the gym?

There is so much I love about AP, but I would say the “community.” I love the friendship and connections you have with the other members. The joy you feel in watching someone push past a weakness is awesome!

5. What are you most proud of at the gym (PR)?

I’m most proud that I’m starting to see progress in movements that I’ve always struggled in. To be able to RX most of the daily WODs at my age is exciting. I love trying to keep up with the girls in their 20’s.

6. What do you do when you’re not working out?

When I’m not working out, I’m home taking care of my family, and doing what I can to help my community.

7. What goals are you currently working on?

My current goal is nailing down DUs and Handstand walking.
